Hello, dear mama! I hope you’re feeling as lovely as can be and I’m thrilled to reconnect with you once again. Pregymatic has some fantastic news to share with you this week and I can already feel your excitement bubbling over.
If you love pomegranates, imagine your baby this week – chewy, teenyand soft, measuring between 15 to 17 cm from head to toe, weighing approximately 5.9 ounces (168 grams). Picture pods of pomegranate seeds right in front of you. Isn’t it simply marvellous? I can barely contain my excitement, knowing that someone so precious is growing rapidly inside you.
Your baby’s movements are becoming more coordinated and you may start to feel some gentle fluttering sensations – a sign that the baby is kicking and moving around. Little one is also practising sucking and swallowing, preparing for the beautiful journey of breastfeeding. As half of the training unfolds this week, it’s a magical reminder of the bond forming between you and your baby.

The bones in your baby’s body continue to harden, while still maintaining flexibility to allow for growth and movement. The skeleton is transforming from soft cartilage to bone and the spinal column is taking shape beautifully. The umbilical cord, serving as the lifeline, grows stronger and thicker, delivering essential nutrients to your baby. It’s truly a miraculous connection, ensuring your baby’s growth and well-being. Tiny fingerprints are forming soon, little toenails will sprout, turning your baby into a mini fruit basket.
Your baby’s ears are becoming more developed and they can now hear sounds like your heartbeat, voices and external noises. It’s a perfect time to share secrets and talk a lot with your little one. Did you know that right after birth, the baby can recognize one or two voices they were accustomed to during pregnancy? So, go ahead, indulge in interesting discussions over a cup of coffee and create beautiful memories even before your baby arrives.
The baby’s playful movements will keep you enchanted this week, as you experience those delightful belly flutters. It’s truly awe-inspiring to witness the wonders of creation. Remember, God is the ultimate creator and as you embark on this journey, may He shower you with kindness and make everything feel like a piece of cake.
Let’s now address some common symptoms you may experience during this week:

Itchy skin – Many pregnant women experience this symptom due to hormonal changes, stretching skin and increased blood flow. Keep your skin hydrated by applying moisturiser or lotion regularly. Use mild, fragrance-free soaps and avoid hot showers or baths to prevent further irritation.
Stretch marks – I could go on for hours about this, but let me share some key points without bothering you too much. Stretch marks are a natural sign of motherhood and strength. They show the world that you are bringing a precious life into this world. Embrace them as part of your journey and try using a good moisturiser suitable for your skin type to keep your skin nourished. Stretch marks won’t hurt you, I promise and they are a beautiful testament to your motherhood.
Dizziness – Keep an eye on your sugar levels and stay well-hydrated to avoid feeling uneasy and dizzy. Carry your favourite pack of juice or some munchies to keep thirst at bay.
Vision changes – Blame it on hormonal changes, blood circulation, or excess fluid retention, but vision changes can occur during pregnancy. Rest assured, they are usually temporary, so don’t carry unnecessary worry. Applying ice packs and getting enough rest and sleep can help you stay balanced.
Increased appetite – As your baby grows, they demand more nutritious food and it’s your duty to provide the nourishment they need. So, go ahead and eat healthily!
Feet swelling – Swelling of the feet, ankles and legs, also known as edema, is common during pregnancy due to increased blood volume and hormonal changes. Try taking frequent breaks and moving around to encourage blood circulation and prevent prolonged sitting or standing.
Now, let’s take a look at some common tests your healthcare provider may recommend during this stage:
1. Maternal blood tests
2. Ultrasound
3. Glucose screening
As we conclude this week, remember that it’s dedicated to your baby’s physical development and the delightful noise they are making inside you. Cherish this precious time, get close to your loved ones and drape them in love. As a mother, you know best how to do it. Talk to your littlest one, listen, learn and grow together forever.
Let’s part for now, but I’ll be back to bring you more excitement in the following week. Stay well, stay blessed and keep that radiant smile shining!
With love and warmth,
Pregymatic, your trusted pregnancy partner.

NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS
Let’s talk about the wonderful benefits of adding Beetroot to your pregnancy diet. As an Indian mother myself, I understand the importance of nourishing our little ones with the best nature has to offer.
Beetroot, with its vibrant colour and earthy flavour, is a true gem in the realm of nutritious foods. During this beautiful journey of motherhood, including beetroot in your meals can bring a multitude of benefits for you and your growing baby.
First and foremost, beetroot is a rich source of iron, a mineral crucial for maintaining healthy blood levels. As we embrace the miracle of life within us, our bodies require extra iron to support the growing baby’s blood supply and overall development. This nutrient plays a significant role in preventing anaemia, a condition that can leave you feeling fatigued and weak. By incorporating beetroot into your diet, you are empowering your body to stay strong and energised throughout your pregnancy.
Moreover, beetroot is abundant in folate, a B-vitamin essential for proper fetal development. Folate aids in the formation of the baby’s neural tube, which eventually becomes the brain and spinal cord. This vital vitamin acts as a protective shield for your little one, ensuring their healthy growth and reducing the risk of certain birth defects.
Beyond these nutritional benefits, beetroot offers antioxidants that boost your immune system, helping to keep you and your baby safe and protected during this delicate time. The fibre in beetroot aids digestion and prevents constipation, a common discomfort during pregnancy. It also supports healthy weight management, which is crucial for your overall well-being during these nine months.
As you relish the goodness of beetroot, feel the loving connection between you and your baby growing stronger with each nutritious bite. Nature has blessed us with this amazing vegetable and by including it in your meals, you are nurturing the bond with your little one in the most beautiful way possible.
So, dear mama, let beetroot be your companion on this magical journey. Embrace its richness, savour its flavours and celebrate the nourishment it brings to you and your precious baby. As an Indian mother, I take pride in sharing this invaluable knowledge with you and I hope you enjoy the nourishing benefits of beetroot throughout your pregnancy.
